Dear Friend,
You must be aware that a powerful earthquake of magnitude 8.0 jolted southwestern Sichuan, China on May 12. News of the disaster are on every TV channel and newspaper. As we write this, the death toll has increased to 69,136, a total of 374,061 people were injured and 17,686 others remain missing. About 45.55 million people were affected by the quake, of whom 15.15 million had been relocated.
A week after the earthquake struck, TOUCH deployed an assessment team to the disaster zone in Doujiangyan, Sichuan to assess how we can help. In response to the Government of China's request for international assistance, TOUCH is shipping emergency tents, medicine, clean water, "Cheer Kits" & "School Kits" for children and other relief supplies to meet the immediate needs of affected individuals through our local partner in Chengdu. In addition, TOUCH will be providing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder training services to local non-governmental organisations so that they will be equipped to handle the large number of cases expected in the months ahead.
Due to the complexity of the disaster, new challenges & needs will arise, TOUCH stands prepared to provide additional assistance at the request of our local partner and continues to consult with them to determine appropriate assistance options for meeting the urgent needs identified.
In this time of great suffering, would you please join us in helping the thousands of victims?
TOUCH has been granted a permit by the Commissioner of Charities to raise funds for survivors of the earthquake. Cash donation is the most practical way of helping and besides providing for the immediate needs, your donation will contribute to future restoration & reconstruction projects.
Please visit

Thank you for helping. May God bless you.
Sincerely,
Eugene Seow, PBM
