Cementing Ties 10-year-old Tay Kai Jun and 11-year-old Tay Kai Chien from TOUCH Children’s Club (Tampines) have something in common: They have never attended a big party before. So on 26 November 2005, they had their wish fulfilled at a celebration party at the SAFRA Toa Payoh multipurpose hall organised by AXA Life and AXA Insurance Singapore under the AXA Hearts in Action – an annual community programme dedicated towards community work. Joining in the fun was about 100 children from TOUCH Children’s Club and about 80 AXA staff and family members.
Party Fun There was something for everyone. The children were beaming with joy and excitement as they moved in groups and competed in a series of games. Besides the games prizes, everyone went home with a special present. “I like to receive presents. This is my first big party and I had so much fun. The uncles and aunties from AXA were nice and friendly. I made some new friends that day too,” said Kai Chien from TOUCH Children’s Club.
In a bid to raise funds, a team of AXA Insurance employees including the Executive Committee prepared breakfast for sale to all staff on the morning of 9 November. Their CEO, Patrick Font, personally prepared a special breakfast for sale. Said Mr Simon Sim, General Manager of TCS, “As a responsible corporate citizen, AXA has set an exemplary role in doing its part for the community. On behalf of our clients, we want to thank AXA for putting a smile on their faces.”
